Confirmation
On Sunday, January 24, 2010, the following individuals were confirmed by Bishop Adams: Heather Carapetyan, Courtney Gazda, Nick Gazda, April Lanzafame, Jay Lanzafame, Michele Marquart, Cathy Pepper, Taylor Pepper, Jessica Hallinan, Amanda Pepper and Jason Pepper. These people have worked hard for over a year, in classes, with mentors, teachers and with other members of the congregation in preparation for this next step in their formation. I had a wonderful time working with each of these individuals and Resurrection can be proud of them and what they have done.

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER
The Men’ Club of the Church of the Resurrection will host a pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday, February 16 from 4:30 to 6:30. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students, with a 20$ maximum for a family. Children under 5 are free. The menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, ice cream, fruit toppings and beverages. Tickets will be available at the door. Everyone is welcome. Bring your neighbors, bring your friends and bring your appetite.
Wednesday Services
On February 17, 2010 we will have 2 services, one at 10:00 am and one at 5:30 pm. Both services will be the Ash Wednesday services (including the imposition of ashes) and Holy Eucharist.
Both services will be held in the chapel.
SEVERE WEATHER CANCELLATION
In the event of severe weather forcing the cancellation of Church Worship Services or scheduled meetings and events, announcements will be broadcast on WSYR-TV (Channel 9/889) and Time Warner News Now (Channel 10/880).
Resurrection Readers
Our winter months are a good season for finding a warm spot to cozy up with a good book. With this in mind, the Resurrection Readers have selected an interesting collection of books to discuss during the winter months. The January selection was “Grace” by Richard Paul Evans. In February we will be discussing an interesting book, “The Bridge of Sighs” by Richard Russo and in March the selection is “An Irish Country Doctor” by Patrick Taylor. The books are available at the River’s End bookstore with a discount if you mention the Resurrection Readers. The Book Club typically meets at 7:00 on the second Monday of the month. The Dates and Books for the months ahead includes:

The New Blue Church Directories
The new Church Directory has been published and is now available. If you have not received your copy of the directory yet please pick one up after Sunday Service or stop in to the Church office to get a copy during office hours. If you and your family are not listed, if your e-mail is not included or if there is a mistake in your listing, please contact the church office at resoswego@aol.org or by phone (343-3501). We thank John Henry at Speedway Press for his donation of printing the directories.
Haiti Relief
The Church of the Resurrection parishoners gave $312 to the Bishop’s Discretionary fund during his recent visit on January 24, 2010. This includes the loose plate offering and designated funds received on that Sunday.
Donations made to the church designated for Haiti and collected during January totaled nearly $1000. These funds will be forwarded to Episcopal Relief and Development to aid Haiti You may continue to support efforts in Haiti by contributing directly to Episcopal Relief and Development at http://www.er-d.org/HaitiCrisis or
